Baseball and Bible School

Last week was a busy week for Alexander!  He attended baseball camp at Potomac State College in the morning and then Bible School in the evening.  He LOVED the homerun derby that they had on the last day!  He was so proud of himself and loved hitting the ball!  In the evening we went to Lighthouse of Hope assembly of God with his best buddy Ben!  He loved dancing and singing every night!  On Friday, there was a performance and a picnic for the kids and families.  They had free snowcones, cotton candy and hotdogs!

We also found out last week that my cousin Jamie's little boys were hit by a car while riding their bikes in their neighborhood.  Both Jeffrey and Jeb are walking miracles and we can thank God for everything!!  When hit by the SUV, one was thrown over and one went under. One of the bikes was tangled under the car and Jeffrey was trapped.  Jeb was thrown over the vehicle.  Jeffrey injured his knee very badly, but was released that day with some other minor injuries.  He has much healing to do, but I'm sure God will continue to look over him. Jeb was in the roughest shape and stayed longer in the hospital and is a walking miracle! His parents were told at the first hospital that there was nothing they could do and he would not make it.  They said his pancreas was so bad they couldn't fix it.  They thought that if maybe if he was at a children's hospital he may have had more of a chance.  So my cousin Jamie told them to take him to a children's hospital which was further away.  To everyone's surprise, his pancreas was fine, it was his liver and lung that were badly injured.  His steering wheel from the bike had went into his chest and collapsed his lung and the bumper from the car bruised his liver.  His liver was failing, but it soon turned around and was working again.  His lung began to work and he was sent home on Wednesday night.  The accident happened Monday!!  I can't imagine the fear and worry that everyone was feeling, but I know they are trully blessed to have the boys on the road to recovery!!  They have a long road ahead but knowing they will be okay, is such a blessing!!  Thank you to all who prayed for them and continue to keep them in the prayers!!  They do need it still!! 

This was especially scary for me to think about, because we are always riding the bikes around the neighborhood.  It was an awakening to Alexander for sure!! My cousin Jamie and I grew up together. We are only about 6 months apart.  Our moms are sisters, so we saw each other often. We spent most summers visiting each other's houses.  After college we both moved away and haven't stayed in close contact, but we have met the boys and Alex loved playing with them at aunt Barara's farm.  We are putting together a care package for them, and hoping to visit them soon! 

This whole accident was horrific for all of them and I know they have a lot of recovery ahead.  Please keep them in your prayers as they continue to heal!
