I am so far behind on the posts!! Our lives have been soooo busy after returning from Disney. Here is the last bit of Thanksgiving into Christmas and New Years!
On the way home from Disney, we had to stop at South of the Border of course! Bob got some fireworks so we could have them for the New Years party.
On the way home we stopped by grandma and grandpa's house for a visit. We stayed the night and then had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner the next day.
Post Disney:
It was very hard to come back to reality after the Disney experience. We pretty much hit the ground running the next day after we got home.
We got the Christmas tree and decorations up, I was busy getting my students ready for their Christmas concerts, and Alexander had a Christmas parade and did some caroling with the boy scouts! Bob picked up some extra hours at work and even worked on the weekends until Christmas. Alexander's Scout troop decorated a float to ride and sing carols for the Christmas parade. After the parade, we headed up to Grammy and Paps house to meet up with Trista and Hayden for a Christmas breakfast with Santa. The 4-H club in Morgantown has a fundraiser every year at the airport. They fly in Santa to the Morgantown Airport after a delicious breakfast provided by the 4-H.

It was so cute watching Alexander take Hayden by the hand to help him with making some crafts.
The elf was actually my dentist when I lived in Morgantown. He worked on my front teeth after I chipped them!!

Before Christmas, we also got to visit with Pappy, Aunt Sis and Winston! Winston loved Alexander and wanted to be near him the whole time we were there. They are great buds! We traveled up on Friday night and stayed with Pappy, then the next morning went to the market in downtown Lancaster. We got some delicious coffee and some treats to take back home. I even did a little Christmas shopping and then we went back to Aunt Sis' house to meet up with Aunt Erica, Isabella and Lily to open some presents. It was a fast trip, but a good one!
We were so excited when School was finally out for Christmas break!! That Saturday, Alex sang Christmas carols with his Tiger Scout at the Nursing Home. We helped to make jingle bracelets for all of his friends and printed out music for them to sing. I brought along the guitar and we all went through the halls singing for the patients, visitors and staff. At first Alex was nervous about caroling. I told him that there were people that were sick and may not have a family to spend Christmas with. We are going to go and spred some holiday cheer to them.....he did great! He ended up really enjoying the whole experience.
After all the concerts and parades and activities, we also celebrated my birtday. Bob got me the most perfect cake I have ever received!! I LOVE the Muppets!!
Christmas seemed to pop up so fast!
On Christmas Eve we baked cookies and goodies all day. As Alex and I were rolling out the cookie dough we looked out the door and watched huge snow flakes fall!! We had the blinds open so we
could watch it while baking. It felt 100% like Christmas and may be my favorite Christmas Eve ever!
We had to take a break and play in the snow too!
We did open some presents that evening, set out the cookies and milk for Santa, and hung the magic key on the door.
Bob got Alexander a "Red Rider" BB Gun and I got him the practical "Footy PJ's."
I was on pinterest Christmas Eve and saw this cute idea! It was around midnight, but I still decided to do this. It was a surprise for Christmas morning for Alex and Bob.
Christmas morning was so fun this year! We actually woke up before Alex and just pretended to be asleep when he came to wake us. We told him to go and see if Santa came and he bolted to the living room, and we giggled listening to how excited he was. His big present was the "Nook" which Santa left a note on saying he could "share with his parents."

After we opened the presents, we drove up to my grandmas house for dinner and to spend time with my parents, TJ, Trista and Hayden. Alex fell asleep with his nook. : )
Alex helped grammy play santa. The Christmas story was on in the background of course.
Alex got a gigantic air hockey table......we still haven't brought it home from pap and grammy's house yet! We have to clear out the garage....I'm wanting to make it a game room!!

After a nice afternoon with family, we traveled back down the mountain to our home and spent a few days playing with all of the new toys Santa brought.
One evening, we drove through a blizzard to LaVale to have dinner with some of Bobs friends from work.
Alex had a friend come over the next day and they played in the snow, ate some pizza, built legos, watched a movie and played with some toys.
For New Years, we headed up to Verna's for her annual party!

On New Years day, mom made her usual delicious meal and then we did a little sledding on grandma's hill.
