Animal Kingdom, Disney part 2

Sunday, November 18, 2012
On our first full day, we decided to go to Animal Kingdom.  Our first mission was to concur Mt. Everest!!  It was closed, so we decided to go to "A Bugs Life" show.  After that we headed on a Safari ride that was AMAZING!

Entrance to the park.

In line for "A Bugs Life," we looked at the bottom o the Tree of Life.  The animals were on the trunk of the tree.  The animals were carved by artists on a small scale and then they created piece by piece to make it to the large scale it is.  Quite amazing and very detailed!

After "Bugs Life," Alex and I spotted Russell and Dug from the movie "UP." We waited in line and got their autograph and a photo. They were so fun!!

Then off to the Killamanjaro Safari!  As you can see, we ran into a lot of "Wild Life" that we could almost reach out and touch!

Alex used his binoculars to spot many of the animals.

Pink Flamingos!!

Bob especially loved the Tigers.  I think this one reminded him of Morris, whom he really really missed  while we were gone.

Alex enjoyed playing the drums in Africa.

We did get to ride Mt. Everest in the afternoon once it opened. We got a fast pass and went straight to the front of the line. It was AWESOME! Alex loves the thrill of roller coasters and wanted to go on it again.

Dino Land was like a Jurrasic Carnival placed in the 1950's....(strange)

After playing a few carnival games...the boys won these reptiles!  We were in line for a really cool Dino ride where we went back in time and got to see some real dinosaurs....lol.

Thought this was so funny!  Alex wrapped the snake around his neck like a scarf and posed for this photo.

One of my most favorite shows of the week was the Lion King.  Here is one of the videos that I got.  Video taping was allowed, just no flash photography.

After buying his autograph book, Alex was on the the look out for characters.  He couldn't wait to see them!!
We ran into many characters in Camp Minnie Mickey a part of Animal Kingdom.
Chip-n-Dale

Minnie Mouse  (This turned out to be one of the best photos!)

Donald Duck

and Mickey too

Alex wanted to take a picture with his Mickey on our way out o the park.  Gotta love the Finding Nemo Christmas Tree!

After the day at Animal Kingdom, we were very hungry and looked forward to our Seafood Buffet at the Beach Club Resort.  Here are some of the yummy desserts that I so wish I could eat again!!!  Look closely at the carosel.  It is made of CHOCOLATE!

Although we were tired, we decided to go back to Magic Kingdom to ride Space Mountain, and the Toy Story ride.  It was open until 3am and we wanted to take advantage of the magic hours although we only stayed until 11:30.  We were exhausted and slept great that night!
