First Day at Disney, Disney part 1

On Friday, November 16, we drove 10 1/2 hours to Savannah Georgia to stay the night.  We loved our suite!  Alex was thrilled to ride the elevator and stay in a hotel.  After we got dinner, Alex and I went to the pool/hot tub.  It was nice to stretch out and let Alex get out some of his energy at the pool.  Of course, mommy enjoyed the hot tub and swimming some laps.  Alex jumped in and swam like a fish until we were tired and ready for bed.  It was like Christmas Eve and we couldn't sleep, especially Alex. After watching some Disney Channel and Daddy getting Alex an extra pillow, he finally fell asleep around midnight.

We got up very early, snapped a couple of pictures, had breakfast, and were on the road by 7am.

Can you tell we were excited?

There was so much excitement in the car when we saw this sign!!

We checked in to the All Star Sports Resort.
When we arrived at the hotel, the towels were arranged to look like Mickey Mouse!

This was a dream hotel for Alex!

View on our morning walk to get breakfast and catch a bus to the parks. The pool is behind the trees, which was open very late in the evening.  At night, they also had a movie outside that you could sit on lawn chairs and watch.  One of the evenings we came home early from the park and went for a swim and watched Ratatouille while enjoying the heated pool.  There were lots of people in the pool and it was close to 10pm before we headed back to our room.

Shortly after we arrived, we headed out to spend the rest of the day at the Magic Kingdom. The Mickey Statue was at our resort on the way to catch a shuttle and we had to stop for a picture of course!

This was the building we stayed in with a tennis ball container stair case. On the side of the building there were giant tennis balls and rackets.  Each building was a different sport.  Can you believe there were 10 buildings???  This is just one of the resorts!

We had to hit the gift shop in the hotel first to buy Mickey Ears, then waited for our shuttle to the Magic Kingdom!

Wow!!!  When we arrived at the Magic Kingdom, the Christmas decorations were spectacular.

After going through the Haunted Mansion, riding Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, we ran into Woody and Jessie.  We waited a short while for a photo and to have Alexander's autograph book signed.

Our first ride, "The Haunted Mountain."

We had a very nice dinner at "The Plaza" in the Magic Kingdom overlooking Cinderella's Castle.  It was a spectacular view!!!  Great way to kick off our first day.

On the way out, Alex got a balloon and then we headed back to the hotel to rest up for Animal Kingdom the next day.
